Floral Designers in competition

We present the professional and emerging floral designers selected from those who have best interpreted the themes of the Festival: rituals and arts, experimentation, connections, contamination and learning.

They are the ones who have been able to seize the pandemic crisis as a resource and opportunity to tell about themselves and their vision through installations designed for Floralism.

 “INTERIOR WOOD”

Contamination. Interior design and floral design. A new vision of the greenery, no longer seen as an element with an expiry date or limited to a term event. The floral design element becomes a permanent design element in a living space, to reunite man and nature.

“FLORAL (BLACK) HOLE”

Via Portuense 201

The concept comes from the suggestion of the sequence of the film Interstellar, which sees the protagonist rely on the reality of Gargantua. With this installation she wants to affirm the attractive force of flowers and try to give shape to the space / time dimension that is experienced in the creative process.

In 2022 she will launch her own floral art and sustainability brand

“KUPALA WAY”

Via Portuense 201

The night of kupala is a pagan ritual linked to the countries of Eastern Europe. An ancient midsummer festival that celebrates the victory of light over darkness. It is said that on this night every living being connects to all the others and to the earth itself, giving life to a single pulsating organism. During the celebrations, women usually adorn their bodies and heads with herbal necklaces and large garlands of fragrant flowers. The complexity of the kupala rituals affects the relationship between man and nature, a bond that we should rebalance with the aim of re-establishing an equity between man and nature that can preserve a healthy perpetuation of the human race;waiting for all our wishes to come true.

“PUNTO D’INCONTRO”

Via Portuense 201

Intertwining, anchoring, running, crawling: thus, branch after branch, the plants bind and support each other, creating a bond that leads them to advance in space. Despite their individual nature, they create unions and relationships parallel to those of people and cultures.

Nonostante la loro natura individuale esse creano unioni e rapporti paralleli a quelli di popoli e culture.

Goffredo Serra

Friday 1st October h. 2.30 pm – 5.30 pm
Saturday 2nd October h. 10.00 am – 9.00 pm
Sunday 3th October h. 10.00 am – 7.00 pm

Recently entered the world of floral design, he loves working with normally neglected botanical elements, plants and flowers that grow spontaneously along the edges of the roads sidewalks and in our parks with which he creates compositions that redeem their beauty while maintaining a sense of simplicity and harmony, exploiting the expressive potential of each element to its maximum splendor and after drying it.

“FUMO NEGLI OCCHI”

Via Portuense 201

The balance of the planet is irreversibly compromised by human activities and in the summer months we have witnessed countless fires that have devastated our forests. Smoke in the Eyes is an evolving installation: of the three initial compositions, one is burned at the end of each day, relocating its burnt remains in their original position. A countdown that reminds us that the time to not get to the point of no return is now running out. Only one composition will remain in its initial state, a symbol of hope and resilience.
